what I was thinking, was to put a small tank in the rear, and have the compressor in the engine bay. So I can use the rear tank for filling stuff in the back of the truck.

Its not like putting a small air hose into a T fitting, on the compressor? I have no idea what I am doing though. You guys will be my "lead from example"

It doesn't matter where the tank is in relation to the compressor. It's all the same system. You just need to run the quick connects from the tank to wherever you you'd like them to be. I'm using all 3/8 push air line.

Manifold can go anywhere. Lockers do not draw that much air so it does not matter. I still need to source a flex stainless line to go to my tank from compressor. Due to my mounting location it may be difficult to run soft copper like I had planned.

do I need to get the ARB manifold kit if I am just using the compressor to air up tires? Can I add the manifold kit and ARB solenoids later if I decide to add a front locker? What if I want to add another outlet for the air hose, in the rear of my truck? I just ordered the compressor and air up kit

Not sure what all that stuff is with the air hose, but 3/8 will cover your requirements. No need to go 1/2" IMO. I ordered all my fittings and line from eBay.
You don't need the manifold if not using lockers. You can easily add it later. If you want to add another quick connect, you'll just need to T off the tank. The compressor only has one outlet. If you're going to run a tank and no manifold, everything will come off from the tank.

OK. Can I run a T from the compressor to another quick connect at the back of the truck? or for that case do I need to have a tank?

You can add a T at the compressor to run the two lines.

I guess I'll just do it right and go compressor > tank > manifold > and so on.

Had a spare piece of aluminum, well actually a VP Racing fuel can holder that I cut up, laying around. So I made a simple panel type bracket thingy to mount the compressor to.

I used the little tabs that're behind the storage compartments to bolt the aluminum panel to. It's only bolted in the center of the panel on both ends. I made six little rubber feet to go between the panel and the cab. Then used some extra Dynamat around the edges. It's overlapping the panel right onto the cab. It's very secure and should keep everything from rattling. That Dynamat is really adhesive. Especially when you hit it with a heat gun.
