I'm down to 187.. I broke the 200 barrier, fell to 190-ish and have been here for a while. I need to kick up some cardio and be a little more regimented with the diet, especially during holiday time..

Well I signed up to a gym and went for the first time yesterday morning. I did 45 minutes on the treadmill and nearly 30 minutes on a recumbent bike. Now I know that sounds pretty whimpy but a month or two ago I couldn't walk 30 feet without stopping cause of the pain. I really have to force myself to take it slow for a bit, my goal is to be back running and biking "normally" by Spring. Thanks all for the encouragement, helps a lot.

    You got it, Brother!

I'm still watching what I eat, exercising regular and feeling much better. Like everyone else, the road to wellness is work!

    Keep checking in.

Stay with it Blackout, I quit along time ago after a few years of smoking. It's a tough monkey to get off of your back but you can do it.

Good news and bad news at the gym yesterday. Bad news is that I weighed myself for the first time since I dinked my back. My weight pre injury was 216#s and now I'm up to 227. I'm not going to get myself down about it, I know that my diet has jumped the tracks and for 5 months I could barely walk much less exercise. The good news is that I'm hitting the gym 4 days a week, treadmill running 3.5 miles.I plan on adding free weights soon, taking this one slow to avoid reinjury. I feel that if I can get my diet in line I should be able to drop 10 lbs pretty quickly.

    Well, shit.

I got no excuse for not weighing in. I'm at work and I guess I'll take a walk and find out where I'm at. Stand by. Will report back in 30.

Not unhappy, but not excited. Kinda meh.

Will do the official weigh in on Friday. Going over to my calendar tab to set a reminder now.

Its tough this time of year, but hopefully the stress of pre-holidays is dwindling. I don't get to stressed over New Years. You don't have to spend mental effort buying and paying for gifts.

I weighed myself yesterday at the gym. I actually gained a pound from the week before, despite going to the gym 4 times a week. It's my diet, cakes, pies, ice cream and all of the good food that's bad for me. I'm hopeful that with the holidays being over I can get it going the other way. I'm good with Friday weigh ins though, keep it up fellas and the weight will come off.

Holidays are kicking my ass. So is the 'thritis.

Hoping that the epic meals will be ending soon and I can get back to reasonableness.

At least I haven't put it all back on.

On a side note, 2017 is bringing major changes in life so it's time to sack up and get my health handled.

Will be in here regularly for the next year. Glad to see it's still going.

Good luck fellas...a lot of us are in the same boat. I'm a tic tac short of 58 years old. Losing the weight is much harder now than even a few years ago. I believe it when folks say it's mostly diet responsible for your weight.
