Does a rack and pinon come with a one piece bar? Is this for the whole front end? Do I need to buy another one? Do I need anymore parts for it?

That piece spans the whole front end side to side. Quite often referred to as a steering rack. Get a new bushing kit too. and power steering fluid.

Also, hey OP, Welcome to TW - you might be posting in the wrong forum. It looks like you've got an 09, which would put you in the 2nd Gen group.

edit: nope, looks like I'm in the wrong forum....how'd i get here??

and your truck may not be alignable if the rack is worn and has play in it :)

Yes, you should get an alignment as you will have to remove the tie rod ends to replace the rack. Take measurements before you remove them so you are close when you put it back together. Then let the pro's dial it in with the fancy pants laser doohickey machine.

cmon, you don't like the string method?? nothing more tedious than a diy alignment job. check, recheck. check, recheck.

I was half of an inch off using a tape measure and my steering wheel looked like I was making a left hand turn when going straight...lol

Chief, you're might want to call around for an estimate.
