Not really something I 'did' to my truck, but yesterday I picked up another 1st gen.

    '99 Imperial Jade Green
    v6, 140k miles. Got her for $4200
And super excited to start modding.

Got the 140 amp alternator installed with most of the Big 3: need to install the new 4awg marine cable battery negative to engine. Dinner called!

    Engine to body ground:

New 4awg marine alternator to 150 amp breaker, breaker to positive battery post.

Question: The belt squealed upon startup and made the belt hot, so I shut the motor off and reduced the tension. Squeal went away, and after a short drive, the belt at the alternator pulley was not hot. What is the best method of getting the tension right?
