I watched a video after the reveal with the head of Naughtydog and the actress that plays Ellie and the actor that plays Joel. After I finished the game a few years ago (and then played their remastered version) I was firmly convinced they shouldn't make another one. Let the game stand alone and let the ending be as open for interpretation of the "big lie" and the consequences of what that would entail. I like that the game didn't give you a choice and I think that's what made it even better.

But after watching that interview I've somewhat changed my mind. I believe they care as much about the story and said "please have faith in us that it will be great". So I'll take them at their word. I think they know what they are doing and how to approach it.

That said... I don't want to speculate.

Gotta milk every penny. I'm genuinely curious how they'll follow the first game and I'll give them a chance for sure, but I can't help feeling like they're milking it.

If it weren't Naughty Dog I'd feel the same way.

That's something I didn't take into consideration. Their history of caring more about the story than the income should speak for itself. Hell there are 4 Uncharted games out now and they're all pretty in-depth with real character development and plot lines.

I think they will do fine with the last of us 2. I just hope they done turn it into a series like they did with Uncharted. I enjoyed The first one a lot, then the second i liked, by the third i was going ok its more of the same and the story is also more of the same. I havent played number 4 yet to be fair since i still only have a PS3.

I've mentioned before that when The Last of Us was finished I hoped they didn't make a sequel. It ended perfectly and left you with trying to figure out what "you" would have done (not that you had a choice in the game).

But then the trailer came out and honestly I can't wait. Naughty Dog has elevated to a position of great story / character development that I trust they will do right by us. I'm interested and I really think it will be a engaging game. The Last of Us is one of the few games that drew out emotion. I'm sitting here thinking "but I'm playing a video game?" But you get attached to the characters and the loss of those characters makes it even harder. From Sarah dying at the start to Henry killing himself and just the interaction between Joel and Ellie.

I wish it were here now.

I think some of that is just the fact they never planned a sequel. Uncharted had a "two year release schedule" for the first three. Then a sort of platform exclusive for the PS4. So on that aspect Uncharted ended up really being a "forced series" IMO. Basically knowing another game was coming.

I wasnt a huge fan of the last of us. I freely admit it. I didnt sit and play through it quickly or in one play through. It took me awhile. But I am actually excited for The Last of Us 2. Feel like it will be good story and the same game play style from The Last of Us. Ill probably end up buying a PS4 when it launches.

I was a huge fan of it I think because I love dialogue driven stories. It was engaging from the start. That's why I gravitate toward dialogue heavy movies. And it would be hard to sit for a entire playthrough. Took me about 4-5 days to finish.

I just felt it was the same game throughout the three i played. Nathan finds a treasure. Nate has an old adversary show up to spoil it. Rest of game is fighting to get the prize. Obviously more depth than that since i played all three :) But still that was about how i felt. I enjoyed 1 and 2 quite a bit. I had a GF buy me 3 for my birthday actually. i felt bad cause i didnt play it till it was half off lol. But even then i was glad as i felt is was a $30 game at best,

RDR is one game i never got into. I had it and sold it for what i paid for it. But i was playing GTA at the time too so it felt like the exact same game just with horses lol

Don't have a Xbox but I've got a PS4 Pro and I can say that 4k games look amazing. Titanfall 2 in particular.

My laptop blew up last year. And I mean caught on fire and blew one of the USB ports out of the side with nothing plugged into it. Never replaced it so I'm just running consoles now.
