just picked up a 2005 base 2.7 4x4 5-speed taco... with 272k one owner miles might I add!!

I'm looking at lift kits... I can get a 4" full drop bracket or a 6" full drop bracket for $999... yes, either one same price. My question is, I'm wondering if the only actual difference is the blocks in the rear and the spacers for the coil overs... anyone know? I know on the cheaper drop bracket lifts I've seen for other makes (i.e. Silverado/F150), the actual drop brackets only measure 4" hole to hole, but you get the extra 2" by cranking your torsion bars. Is that the case with these lifts here? (substitute t-bars for coil spacers in this case) I'm thinking I really only need about 4" to clear 33's, but its hard not to just for the extra 2" when its the same price... Just wondering if down the road I can swap out the front 4" spacers for 6" spacers to make it the same 6" lift? (links below)

The other question... I see people are clearing 33" tires with these 3" spacer lifts... how's the ride quality? how bar are the cv and ball joint angles? how much trimming is required on a 3" spacer lift and 10" wide wheels with 33's? What about these 3" spacer lifts that come with the diff drop brackets? worth it?...

I'm only wanting to run 33's since my truck has the 2.7L and I'm leaning towards an 18x10" rim.

DB lifts are not popular around here. Not many members will recommend either of those options. They can do more harm than good.

Quality suspension upgrades(coilovers) will be a better option for anyone. You can still fit 33's if that's your goal.

Bilstein 5100 coilovers and shocks with an add-a-leaf are usually the go to for fitting bigger tires and a 3" lift. You can add SPC Light Racing UCA's to get better adjustability in your front end alignment as well for around the same price as the db lifts.
