My 03' 2.7L auto 4x4 idles low with my a/c on. The compressor crapped out a little over a year ago and I finally replaced it. Any ideas why the idle is low? Do i need to clean out the throttle body? Any info would be nice, thanks TW!Screenshot_2016-11-07-21-14-36-1.jpg

When the compressor kicks on a clutch engages inside which causes a heavier load on the belt and therefore the engine so it will use more engine power. How low are we talking? Most vehicles automatic up the rpm to compensate.

I honestly don't know. I've been driving my 4runner and my dad's the one who fixed it, since I'm letting him borrow the truck. He wants me to do the research and learn for myself. I'm gonna go check the truck tomorrow but wanted to see if I could get some insight. Gonna try and make it a quick fix

There is an idle up switch on the compressor that tells the vehicle to idle up when you kick the compressor on.

On my 95.5 2.7l it has a VSV, vacuum swithching valve I think that is what it stands for, for the AC,,, mine "cracked" one time and was seperated just enough to lose the vacuum that makes it idle up. Squeezed it back together and zip tied it, still works great till this day. I have 3 or 4 VSV's on my motor, one for EGR, one for AC, and the others I can't remember.
Don't know if your 03' has that technology or not.
