so I like banging bass, and we all know there isn't much room in these new Tacoma double cabs to have mass amounts of deep pounding bass. I designed a decent solution id like to share for all you audio heads who need ideas. Granted it was quite pricey but this thing sounds like I have a competition system and it is completely hidden like a stock car. Set up & parts include: alpine MRV-M1200 sub amp, Dual JL Audio 13.5" Tw5 Subwoofers, 4awg pure copper wire, LC6i D/A Converter, JL Audio 1" Silk Tweeters for the dash, JL audio C2 6x9 3 way speaker for the front door, Jl Audio C3 6.5 Components for the rear door,Rockford Fosgate T400X4AD Power Series Speaker amp. and insane amounts of dynamat. note each speaker and mid I chose required spacers because the depth of the magnets exceeded the oem depth so it will be needed to be spaced out depending on your choice of audio; plus side even with the spacers they fit in the door perfectly and are not even noticeable. my stereo is almost complete maybe dual batteries and forsure some dynamat and figure out how to calm my rear window down from rattling apart and this thing is efficient! attach some pictures of your systems I want to see what you guys came up with! have a great Friday!

Ill Post more photos when I am off work if needed.

I wish I could build a box like this that goes all the way up to the window, but in my '17 I have the rear window motor to deal with

oh so you have the back of the box hollowed out for the motor or is that front piece just a facade that covers the speaker box and goes all the way up to the window covering the motor?

I did at first it it was the worst sounding system I have ever heard. if you order the right subwoofers with low air requirements it will go in like butter. its custom but it will work as long its spec'd correctly these tw5's are finally working to their full potential with the correct box. the original designer used my bed as the back of my subwoofer enclosure and tried to get away with it by dynamatting it I quickly went back and literally looked. chopped the box in half and demanded my money back. they even broke the vents for the rear of my truck open boxes are not the way to go do not ever do it. even if the stereo shop will say it will work... I had a quality shop build me a full custom mdf wood box to spec the truck sounds perfect hits every note and the only things that rattle now are the typical things you really cant fix. ill attach some photos of the process. but yes I have a motor and electric window with these.

So you covered the vent, was told that would cause issues with the defroster.

damn I can't believe they squeezed that box in there over the vent and motor. Looks good. Am I seeing it correct that you took out the support bar, the baby hooks and the tabs across the bottom that the rear cubbies mount too?

I tried at making box over the weekend. Sure it doesn't go up as high as I want it too, but I only needed .8 cubic feet. I think it came out decent and sounds good

I think someday in the future I will go bigger like you. Maybe I'll lose the rear seats all together ha ha
