Definitely a sweet area. Tons of climbing. Mammoth mountain opens tomorrow. (Doubt you ski/snowboard) Right outside Yosemite so there's that entire area to explore. tons of natural hot springs. Drive down into bishop temps warm up a good bit. Shit can be expensive/overpriced but I'm sure the keys are the same way. If you like the outdoors you'll be good.

Dang your leaving the keys? Thought you were looking to expand that Capt. License. Trying to get a mtn job? Most of the places you listed to explore in the west part of the country will be too wet/snowy to make the most out of. Moab will be snowy in December I bet

I chose yosemite because I'm bias to that area, every chance I had when I lived out there I was at yosemite. But reflecting back to previous travels I would hit the spots that are a little far out from your final destination. so you don't regret not going there after you make it out west. plus a lot of the spots are within driving distance once you get to mammoth lakes.

Haha I'll hop in when I can :) what was I thinking, of course with lockers and duratracks you're set!! Skip Death Valley, sounds boring as hell, and go to Moab! Much better than the rest of the options. Unless you plan on joining us for taco takeover in October!?

Not sure if I'll make it to taco takeover will see. Just made it out of Death Valley and it was not boring at all! Went to Mammoth and was hired for a job in SoCal heading back south again.

    12/15/16
Finally made it to San Diego!

Sadly that area was passed over due to time constraints/weather hopefully I might make it back that way in the next decade.
