I did a quick search and didn't see a thread but I'm certain that someone has had to of done this by now. How difficult is it to remove the mount and can you do so without leaving any sort of residue etc on the windshield?

    all tore up already
id be willing to bet its on there with rear view mirror adhesive and if so it isnt coming off short of replacing the windshield.

I thought about it but figured it's on there to stay and it doesn't bother
me enough to possibly fuk up something else so I just let be.

Why not just wait for your windshield to crack and replace it with aftermarket. Considering what a pos the OEM windshield is, it should not be too long of a wait.

Yeah you can buy gopro mounts that retrofit into other things. I have a dashcam mounted to mine now.

How will you film all your extreme off roading without it?

If you take a razor blade and just start working the edges you will get it to pop off. I use rear view mirror glue to mount radar units in Sheriff units. When it comes time to pull the mounts out that's how I get them out.

I wouldn't mess with it. I don't even notice it's there even when I have my gopro in it

I've just had several people get in my truck and ask "What is this", or "oh, you have a GoPro"? And I'm like "Nope, it was in here when I got it and nope I dont have a GoPro and dont want one" Therefore I'd just rather not have it there, haha.

Yeah, but then you'd just change the question to them asking "What used to be in this spot" or "Why does the black stuff extend so far to my side?" :D

That's what I was going to say...something along the lines of "what is this spot for?"

Leave it. You may decide to mount something else in the future.

I use mine to film the drive through the mall parking lot.

You can usually just pry them off by hand if your hands are strong enough....its just high grade double face 3M tape. Shouldn't even leave any residue either
