One side insulated. Pretty tedious but it'll be worth it to be nice and warm when we're camping!

Bahahaha that was a funny picture in my head thinking of me trying to do that. Can't let any foam hit the floor!!!

Thanks buddy!! I'm stoked. I love working on it haha

About 3 hours of work today I was able to insulate all the walls. Just gotta do the ceiling now and skin it wth Luan.

For the tight curved sections of the roof where it meets the walls, try scoring the foam about half way through on the back side (side that will be facing the ceiling) spaced about one inch apart, that should allow the foam to bend enough to follow the curve without snapping. That way you're doing the ceiling in one paice rather than a bunch of small pieces. Similar to this:
    3-the-resulting-curve[1].jpg

The reason you'd want to do it on the backside is because you're not removing material like you would with a table saw (unless you want to use a table saw), so you'd want the relief cuts on the back side and they would open like a book.

You got it bud. Out of curiosity, are you sticking the panels to the outer skin with anything? Spray adhesive?

I didn't do that, I cut everything 3/16" of an inch over and forced it into place. The 3/8" plywood that will go back over the foam should sandwich it nicely to the outer skin of the trailer.

You may consider spraying a little adhesive in there. Maybe not full coverage, but at the very least In an X pattern on each panel. That way the foam will also act as a sound deadener for the aluminum skin. Drummers will know what I'm talking about, but it'll cut down the resonance if you're ever caught out in windy conditions or rain/hail. I'd do that unless the inner skin is actually going to apply pressure as it sammiches the foam in place.

The "R" value on foam board is less than the soft stuff. The lower the number, the worse the insulating factor. But like Joe said, it'll be a lot easier to work with the foam board over the pink stuff. The foam board cuts real clean with a circular saw. And it'll adhere really well with some liquid nail. I used foam board and liquid nail to insulate the shop door recently. Made a huge improvement.

Did my garage door the same way. It gets full sun In the PM and in the summer turns my garage into an oven before I added the foam.

One thing that a lot of people don't know about fiberglass batt insulation is that it doesn't add r value if you compress it and add several layers to a space. It gets its r value from the air between the fibers as well as the fibers itself. I e zen people double up on insulation in 2x4 walls and they don't understand that they're weakening the product by doing that. They think it's like wearing a bunch of sweaters on your house.
