Had a 2013 Tacoma TRD Sport, then PCS'd to Germany so got rid of it...
Got back, bought a 2015 TRD Sport then deployed to Afghanistan ...
Got back, made my expensive post-deployment purchase...
    Bought a 2016 Tundra CrewMax 1794

Nice truck, really nice, but was actually too nice. As much as I liked it, and the POWER, I'm back...

Now have a gray 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road with JBL premium technology package

2013 Taco, 2015 Taco, 2017 Taco... I hope they don't come out with some great engine in 2019 (think 300/300 for power)! I still say the 4.0 had better bottom end torque than this 3.5, but the truck is much nicer than the 2015.

It's a good thing I get great deals on these trucks or else I'd be hurting. Got this one for $4050 off MSRP, without using the $500 military discount since I got a great rate elsewhere. Got the Tundra for $6100 off. Last Taco something like $5000 off, roughly. Taco before that I think $3700 off.

This truck will be a keeper

Need to get rid of the side steps. That was the only real issue in negotiating. We made a deal on the truck itself for $3800 off then a side deal essentially for another $250 off the side steps. They'll just get in my way

Wow, they were bleeding money to get you into that truck, unless for some reason they inflated the MSRP.

Did Toyota make the money on your trade? How is the franchise in business if they give away their profit?

Well Toyota stepped up and beat the loan I had set up. Got 2.24% for 72 months plus another $500 off for military discount.

    $40,857 for $36,307

Got a case number and appointment for Monday to have the transmission fluid checked. Better safe and do it now rather than later. They also mentioned the plugs for the control arms when I brought that up. Since taping up the holes it did quiet it down. Hopefully they come out with something official for the door seals to quiet that down

^ I heard that there are several Tacos that come from factory with low transmission fluid or something along those lines? Gotta get that checked out myself.

    Awesome truck nonetheless, congrats!

Just got back from the dealership. Can someone, smarter than me, point out where it says the transmission fluid was actually checked and where it says that it is where it should be. Cause I don't see it. And I had the service tech come out and he explained how he did the flash update, that he took it for a test drive, didn't hear any whistling or anything coming from under the truck, but I had to ask about the transmission fluid level a couple times and prompt him for an answer. I don't think he even checked. But after asking multiple times about the level and procedure he did mention something about seepage, it draining, stuff like that. Zero mention of the Techstream.

If you look at the time, it took less than three hours to let it cool, perform the service, drive it around, and do the flash update.

Had he actually put it up on a jack he'd know why there was no whistling sound, because I taped up the LCAs myself. And another reason I don't think he did it is because he flat out said he doesn't believe they're coming from the factory low on fluid.

Lastly, Toyota was only billed $42 according to the sheet the dealership kept. Only $42 to check it, drive it, perform the flash update? Yeah, right.

Was built Nov 14th. Maybe Toyota finally began filling them all the way by then?

Have to admit the truck feels so much better at sea level. Live at 6000 feet where it is down 18% on power and drive up over 12k feet at times and down 36% on power. At sea level, not so terrible.

Getting 5k service. Service writer hadn't heard about changing from 3 blinks to 4, but hopefully the tech knows what I'm talking about.
