Have an '09 DCSB 4x4 that I used 5100's on first setting to level. Rear leafs were replaced by recall and went from 3 to 4 leaf, adding about an inch in rear height. I've been told that instead of setting 5100's to level again, I should set them back to original setting and use a 2.5" leveling kit. Could use some advice or suggestions. Thanks.

You could just buy a taller coil and set the 5100's at the lowest setting....

do this.. better ride. OME 885 or 887 on lowest setting. 887 probably if you got a bit of a rear lift.

Not sure...don't know a heck of a lot about them. Guy I talked to at a Truck Outfitters shop recommended spacers and hardware from ReadyLift.

There is a setting for 1.75 that most people say rides good and levels out the truck with the new leafs.

Not many knowledgeable people will recommend spacers. The proper length coils will provide the best ride.

Again, don't know that much about it. Original question to guy at the shop was about raising shocks to 1.75 setting. He thought it was too much stress on the shocks. I'm guessing longer coils would provide the lift without all the stress on the shocks? Makes since to get longer coils, set the shocks at lowest setting, instead of just putting spacers on the factory coils. Especially if the ride is better.

Um.. taller coils at 0 or raising the perch on stock coils has the same effect on the shocks. Taller coils will generally have the added benfit of higher spring rate, which can improve ride quality.

886's will raise the front end 2.25 to 2.5 inches. 887's will bring you closer to 3 inches where you will most likely need UCA's.

People in here raise them to 1.75 all the time. If you are 4 wheeling a lot then yes get coils. If your a street queen you could run spacers or 5100s at 1.75.

Appreciate all the advice. Since my year model is included in the frame rust issue, I'll probably wait until I know what's gonna happen with that; then do it all at the same time. Got things to study on til then...

I would raise it to 1.75. it wont cost you anything other than labor for now, than later decide if you wanna get coils or not.

What would be a good weight spring if you had a lot of weight in truck. So my plan is to buy first gen ride height 5100 for my second gen five lug . With the control arms changed. That strut works so I'm after a 14" tall 3" wide coil but I'm not shure on what weight I have 200 pounds of extra weight in cab all the time and 200 pounds for me want to add a winch and hide winch bumper so another 150 plus want to move my second battery up front so that's an extra 50 total of 600lbs from the back window forward. In added weight The rear of truck has like 400 lbs all the time it has two add a leafs and road master helper springs so it's is ok . So what weight spring would be good for front can go up to like 3-4 inches in height (lift) from stock.
