ok, 3 hours and 90 pages later... anyone got a straight on side shot of their lifted DCLB with specifically a soft topper (not best top) with the sides all rolled up.
closest I recall was a red one with tan top on a pge in the 20s but it wasn't straight side shot.

2nd gen would be preferable but welcome any DCLB at this point.

    TIA - aaron

I have a jeep too. mainly don't take jeep tops through because the plastic windows get scratched, scratches make it not able to see through the plastic window [more for you best top guys]. but I also saw some internet article this morning about someone's battery being cut in half at a carwash (!!??? internet lies?) so maybe there is just liability of carwash tearing top fabric. And when searching google images for pics I saw a torn top on the trail so as we could already imagine they can indeed tear [keep moving carwash parts away].

I just picked up this Softtopper for my 1st gen the other day, $120 off of Craigslist. In perfect condition other than the previous owner cut a square out of the front window facing the cab so it can be accessed from inside the truck.

Didn't want to spend any money on mods for awhile but I couldn't pass up this deal, I love it! Been wanting one since the day I picked up my truck.

I drove 6 hours to get it too lol, so it did end up costing me closer to 200 total (gas included) but still worth every penny :)

90 pages in wow, nice photos of the toppers and vistas. Thanks for sharing

I am in the process of securing a used bestop for my 16, the price is right. I had a hard top on my 09 for the last couple years, loved it, but never took it off except when I sold just before trading in. Excited for the versatility of the bestop.

Looks good, I wish they offered green still, heck if this had been on the lot, I may have even got this over my 17. Nice looking Truck.

Why not go hard top then? Probably cheaper than the can back.

If anyone is looking for a BLACK Softopper for a 16+ LONGBED, I have one for sale in Durango, CO. I have no room to store it and it was only used for two weeks before I took it off to mount a RTT.

Was the guy with the pro who had it sprayed with green bed liner?

I love my new truck, but miss my old one too.

anyone with a 2nd gen get 2 brackets in the package ? the short ones the frame hits when folding down and the long ones seem way to long and bend. I emailed softopper but want to see if anyone on here had same issues. [IMG] [IMG]

I received two brackets as well. The shorter of the two was pre-installed to the rail bar when my topper was delivered. It is giving me the same issue but still folds up with a little persuasion. Did Softopper get back to you on this?

    Yes they did
what i did was split the difference by making a 1/4" spacer from 2 pieces of 1/8" aluminum. Rubs just a tiny bit and doesnt seem to be under as much stress as the long brackets

Also need 1 3/4" machine screws if you do this as stock ones wont fit. i believe they are 10-24 size

I have LED strips tucked under my bed rail, a switch on the drivers side next to the tail gate and a hot wire right to the battery. So useful!
