Left front wheel area rattle.

Noticed today a rattle coming from driver side front wheel area after hitting a bump. Nothing visible at this time anyone have a similar problem? The passenger side has no rattle at all. No pulling or scraping sound.

This very well may not be your issue, but have you checked your anti-sway bar and bushings? This sounds like a problem I had after installing new coil overs/UCAs. I took my sway off now that I have a very stiff suspension (against some people's advice) .. no more sound that was literally making me mad to drive my truck.

 

Crawled under and use a rubber hammer after lifting and found it was a thin plate behind the brake caliber area. Was loose and hanging. So when I hit a bump it would rattle. Is this really needed?

 

I took mine off and theres been no issues.

Are you talking about the dust shield? That may not be easily removed. IIRC, it comes off from the backside so the CV axle is preventing easy removal.

 

oh yea the dust shield. mine were off before i even bought the truck.
