I would be just as comfortable if I were in your position. I have a lease return first week of April and no back up car. If I am to believe Longo, I will have my Pro sometime in March. If I decide to go with my alternative, I go through a broker and can place factory orders for the non Pro models which take approx 3 months so it's one of those situations for me.

My new strategy is to wait to January to see what Longo says. If I don't hear anything solid, I will be scouring Oregon, Nevada and Arizona and buy one that pops up. I'm ok with 2 - 3 months of overlapping payments if longo falls through.

Wait, so if I understand it correctly, whether you get a Pro or not, you'll have to wait 3 months for your Taco to be built and shipped to you? Ouch.

I saw a Cement 6MT sold in Kentucky for MSRP a few weeks ago. You might have better luck in the South seeing as they like MT pickup trucks a bit more down there, but then you will have to pay for shipping or possibly drive your new Taco cross country.

I'm willing to drive from Portland just not cross country in the winter months or shipping.

3 months is the "very safe" estimate according to my broker. The trick is finding a dealer with stock that hasn't already added a bunch of accessories and one that hasn't been marked up. The Sports and OR models can be $500 - $1,000 above MSRP. I know Culver City Toyota for sure marks up $500 on the Sport 4x4 DC.

I will say after 2000 Miles I feel the AT shifting has settled down. I never felt it was poor but could feel the searching and now I rarely do.

Been on the hunt since September. Put a deposit down in mid-October - to a high volume dealer in my area.

I'd say you got very lucky. I still have not seen a single PRO on the road in Virginia.
