Just found this, a little expensive but looks to be brighter and have a dtrl built in. I really would like to see it in action but they do not have a video.

Nice find. Looks like you would have to run additional wires up to the mirrors for the DTRL but that would be pretty sweet.

I actually cracked my passenger side lens trying to separate it from the back. I'm going to order 2 new mirror turn signal lenses. If I can't get the lens off of the first one, I'll just drill holes in the back and line up the led strip on the back.

I'll get a couple of pics tonight to show how it looks. My truck is starting to look like a UFO

Gotta say, it looks pretty sweet. I wish I went the amber way but I went with the all white look. It is hard to get white leds that are the same shade of white (5000k).

Here are some pics with the LEDs in the mirrors on with the parking lights. You will notice the rather large crack right in the middle of the passenger side lens :( oops!

Just got it! Have ordered n-fab nerf 3 step bar, looking at a bakflip hd cover with cs rack for cayak, wood, ect., a poplock power tailgate lock. Looking to boost stereo without taking out oem which is part of nav sys. Any ideas??? Door sill protectors, and thinking about supercharging the thing if can save enough by next year.
I was thinking about keeping the wiring simple with just toggle switches. 1 for led's in scewp and above headlights, and 1 for side mirrors and grill. That would save time and headaches.

Post some pics when you get them installed.

I'm going to be redoing the LEDs in my mirrors. It's nearly impossible to separate the lens without cracking it so I have decided to drill holes in the back of the mirror lights and install individual 5mm LEDs instead of strips on the inside. I'll probably do the same to my headlights too.

The mirrors on the 2nd gens are actually easy to remove. Pulling the turn signal lens apart is another story.

I know this thread is old, but this is a mod I want to do on my sport.

Do these lights require you to remove the current led lense from the mirror? The one that the OP cracked when trying to remove?

I'm considering either buying these and running the DRL feature to a simple switch, or do what the OP did and create a custom board with relays to and use the existing factory LEDs.

You can easily remove the turn signals from the mirrors. I only ran into a problem when I tried to take the turn signals apart. The aftermarket signals listed in that link look like they would fit pretty well.

Thanks. I also just realized the running light is white on those, not amber. I think I'll eventually attempt it your way with relays. Just looks like a headache lol

I'm eventually going to get off my ass and pull out the relays and expand the controller I currently use for the hood scoop so I can have it control the turn signals. When I do I won't need the relay board any more...Give me a couple months and it could be yours at no cost. ;)

Thanks for the offer, I do enjoy the headaches when it comes to electrical wiring. I've never worked with relays but they seem to be relatively simple so I may tackle this on my own so I learn something.

Depending on how frustrated I get, and if you have your board available in the future I may take you up the offer.

I live on the Eastern Shore (Chincoteague) so we aren't too far away, still 757 anyways.
