I've never seen a red one either, it's cool! Both will be put to great use and will be put in the new truck right away!

    Got my gift! Thank you so much @jacobrippey it's awesome! Now I can be a responsible off roader and pick up every piece of trash I can find. I've seen some people mount them over their tailgate which is what I'll do until I can get my high clearance with spare carrier. I'll probably have my gift sent out in the next few days hopefully.

    Here is the story:

    I wrapped up my giftee package, ready to ship in AM. Then I hear the brown truck; MY gift arrived!

    My TWSS left a couple clues to HE is. I believe I know exactly who you are... :spy:

    Well done TWSS mods, well done.

    (If I am correct- I see what you did there...!)

    Irony? Perhaps; but we'll see. :)

    Anyway my TWSS killed it! Got not one but two items I asked for- a camping axe and a recovery hitch with shackle. I will be using BOTH next weekend when we hit Richland Rd!

    I'm really excited to put them on. Any tips? You never know how much you took hood struts for granted until you buy a vehicle that doesn't have them lol. I'm really happy

    Drill the holes very carefully. Lol. Its not too bad of an install.

    I agree that its one of my favorite mods I've done as well.

    Good stuff! It is my first piece of recovery gear. My TWSS also bought me a 5/8" hitch pin and clip for it.

    We have a good size group hitting Richland Rd in W. NC this next weekend. It will be good to have. :thumbsup:

    Use a drill stop to make SURE you do not plunge the drill bit into the underside of the hood! And use an automatic center punch to stop the drill bit from wandering.

    I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
    If you don't know what a drill stop is it's a piece that you can buy that bolts onto a drill so that you can't drill any further. You can do the same thing with masking/painters tape. Just wrap the tape up on the drill bit so that it stops the bit from going any further
