    01 prerunner 2.7 3rz motor with 292k miles
Oil light comes on during idle, check dipstick none oil appears and get oil change with new filter and still the same
    What could it be wrong?
Sensor, whats the stock spec on oil pressure?
Oil pump,is it possible especially with high miles
Or could it be (the worst case) main bearing? (In this case can a person with basic tools and compressor fix it) or better swap whole motor in it?

    Thanks in advance

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
What brand filter? Did it have a check valve (anti-flow back) in it? Have you checked the pressure with a gauge? Is it leaking oil externally?

Are you saying that after a fresh oil change there is no oil on the dipstick?

I would suggest a different oil filter, get a Toyota one if you can. They aren't that expensive even from the dealer.

It's possible the check valve isn't working in the filter.

Wow, that's definitely worst case scenario. Any idea what it is yet?

What oil was used before? And at what kind of change interval?

That's good to know. Thanks for sharing. I've been using Mobil 1 for years at extended intervals. You'll be happy with your choice.
