It seems to be smoother. Nothing crazy though.

Here is a comparison of new and old bushings. You can see there is nothing left on the top of the old one. I'm not sure what they are supposed to look like from the factory, but I'm guessing there is supposed to be more meat there.

Just replaced my drive shaft carrier bearing, also known as the center bearing.
It was a lot easier than I was expecting. I didn't even remove the driveshaft or need a jaw puller. The old bearing slid right off.

replaced mine too. do you still get vibrations around 50-60 because of your lift? i saw someone on here put spacers on the nuts to lower it, i did that and it definitely helped. highway is smooth as butter

I never had vibes from my lift. I was just replacing it because I have a driveline noise. The sound did change but I think the Ujoints need replacing too. My truck is 2wd so it has the double cardon joint behind the carrier bearing. This allows for higher driveline angles.

yeah i have the cardon joint also. i replaced joints and CB at the same time. also my drivers side tie rod was a little loose so that probably contributed to the highway shake.

Have you replaced the steering rack bushings? I have a set ready to go on but I'm waiting to fix my oil pan gasket leak so they won't get immediately covered in oil.

Do it, it will help pay for school and more mods. I would buy!
No need to make a major kit, just the motor, mount, cover, window lever and a wiring diagram. We can piece the rest wiring and switches.

Truck looks great. How does the truck handle the 255s and what gear ratio do you have? I just picked up a 1st gen and have some 255/85/16 km2 on the way. Mine has stock 4.30 gears an seems a little over geared on 31s.

What rear mats do you have? They look pretty similar to WeatherTech, but they don't make the rear for extra cabs.

I have stock 4.56 gears. The truck is definitely slower with the 255s since they weigh A LOT.

    Those are husky liners.

What brand fluid did you use? I was going to stick with OEM. What are some other brands?

Ok thanks. How many ounces did it take?I'm doing the upgrade this weekend. I have Method 16x 8" rims w/ 4.5@ of BS. Will I be ok with the 231mm SWL calipers? And Tundra rotors? I got the Wheeler's red steel braided brake lines too. All of the stuff is OEM except the brake lines. Not aftermarket parts store components. I'm sure it's all the same though.

I can't remember how much I used off the top of my head, but I think you can get away with one small bottle. When my master cylinder went out I used most of a big bottle.

After almost a year I finally found a cheap 255/85 to use as a spare. I got a Maxxis Bighorn on eBay for $75 shipped and an anthracite trd trail team fj wheel. Since it's going under the bed I don't really care that it's a different color.

I had to modify the spare tire positioning brackets to get it to fit correctly. I ended up moving the passenger side bracket outward while leaving the driver side in place since the tire is originally offset to the driver side. This helped to position it directly in the center of the leaf springs. Earlier this year I dumped my exhaust before the axle so it wasn't an issue anymore. I also bend the driver side bracket in at the front and out at the rear. There really is not a lot of room between the axle, hitch, and leaf springs. I got the tire about 1/2" from the hitch and 1/2" from the axle. We will see if it hits under compression. It really doesn't hang that low either, maybe slightly below the stock hitch.

I decided to clean my throttle body and idle air controller since my truck was idling low while in drive at a stop light. This would cause the truck to excessively vibrate.

There was so much build up inside the intake that I could scrape off chunks with my finger nails.
    IMG_6271.jpg
    IMG_6350.jpg

My truck now idles around 725 in drive with the brake on, and closer to 850 while in park.
