I'm having an OME 3" lift kit (front coilovers, rear Dakar leaf kit with shocks) and Total Chaos UCAs installed on my 2013 Tacoma 4x4 and am also having the shop do a CMC using a kit from Socal Supertrucks to hopefully avoid rubbing when I install bigger tires. I'm planning on buying new rims/tires eventually and was wondering what setup you guys recommend (rim and tire size, offset, etc.) to go as big as possible without rubbing a ton. Planning on doing some moderate off-roading but nothing crazy and it is my daily driver so I won't be maxing out the suspension too often. I'll post some pics once the lift is completed. Thanks!

IMG_2096.jpg Got my truck back today. Looks great but on the way home the tires were squealing every time I turned the wheel, even at very low speeds. I'm thinking the alignment was not done correctly. Any advice? I'm bringing it back in next week.IMG_2093.jpg

That's the other shady part. They didn't give me the alignment sheet. I'm going to make sure I get it next week.

How do you decide what offset and backspacing to use? Does it depend on the exact tire you are using?

I'm not the guy to ask. My tires are only 33 1/2" and are skinny enough to work best on stock wheels. They are 255/85/16. There's a whole thread on 35s. It's not open for replies, but if you read through it, you'll learn everything you'll ever want to know about putting 35s on a Tacoma.

Got the alignment done and it was waayyyy off. The shop that installed my lift paid for it because they said their guy didn't do it right the first time but my guess is they forgot to do it at all or were trying to get away with not doing it. Either way the truck is driving great now and I love the new look and ride of my OME lift

What a shitty shop. They definitely DID NOT align it and then lied about a guy "not doing it right". They should have kept the caster higher though.

It's posts like these(and countless others)that make me hate shops more and more.

Yeah I agree it's a pretty shitty thing to do. Why do you say the caster should be higher? I'm a total novice when it comes to alignment so i'm just curious.

It puts the tire further forward in the wheel well. In other words, Further from the cab mount. They wouldn't do it without you asking for it though. They're shooting for factory specs. For example, I have 4* of caster, 0* toe, 0* camber. That's correct for my setup, but there's a lot of red on my sheet... lol
