noise

So today We got 6 inches of snow,and as I turn into my driveway, in 2 wheel drive,the slip indicator light comes on,and there is a loud noise coming from the rear of my truck,that for lack of a better description,though this is pretty exact,sounds like a tire rubbing on metal. Running stock tire size,no add ons,just the truck I bought {2017 SR5 V6 AT 4x4 } Took over to the dealer,who says it is normal,something to do with the ABS?? Had the same truck as a 2013,and never heard this noise on it,though he says it would have made the same noise. Opinions

 

It's under warranty. If something breaks, it's towed and fixed free.

Ya know, I had an odd sound come from the back of mine yesterday as well. Coincidentally, when I spun the rears on a patch of snow. I figured it was the LSD kicking in to balance grip.

 

That's what it is. Makes the same noise in crawl control. Perfectly normal.

Yup. It's the ABS kicking in on traction control. Totally normal.

 

You have abs braking each wheel independently to control slip as opposed to a traditional limited slip differential. the pulsing of the brakes is the noise.

 

This truck has the loudest abs pump Ive ever heard . Brrrrrrrrrt, like a warthog cannon burst.
