I'd do this, call your bank or credit union and ask to speak to someone in the auto loan department. Explain you'd like black book values on retail, trade in, and private party sale...to compare all figures. Banks and auctions use black book....not the bull shit black book you can find online. The real black book is only available to them and those are the figures they go by. Kbb is bullshit as well. Personally, that's awesome that car max has worked out for some people. But, I look at it as they are a business and will never truly give you what your car is worth.

I am in process of selling 2008 TRD Sport... in seriously great shape. I am at KBB retail in my price. This truck rides better than when I bought it new and its at 142k miles. (Amazing what a rebuilt tranny, REAL Bilsteins, NEW Michelin MS2's etc etc do to ride quality lol)

PLUS: Tranny warranty transfers for 2yrs/24k
Its funny, that 28mph vibe went away with rebuild of tranny

I will drive it before I give it away.....
