New here. I have a 20121 tacoma 4 cylinder. Yesterday morning i could start the truck but had no throttle response. It idles fine. I cannot drive it. Any thoughts on what it might be? Going to get a tester to see what code(s) it throws. Any input would be much appreciated

Check the brake switch on the brake pedal. There's a software interlock between the throttle and the brake.

if the brake switch is out does that also mean that i would have no brakes and/or no brake lights?

As for the brake interlock it activates when the brake is depressed and the throttle pressed at the same time, it cuts the throttle. It was a change due to the "unintended acceleration fiasco". And if your brake switch is stuck the brake lights will be on. It doesn't affect the brake operation.

Good you found it. How was the wire damaged?
