    Hello all,

I bought my son a 2005 silver Tacoma TRD for his birthday (yup I know) and he is looking to upgrade it a little. I wanted to see if the board would have some recommendations that we could do together. I don't want to create a bunch of major mechanical work but would like to introduce him into working on something. I was thinking maybe a grill or headlights but I would rather trust the board first.

    Hammer away.

You can just about mod your taco out of being a taco.... I suggest looking at the tab up top for free/easy mods to do and asking about those that intetest you or tell us if anything on that 05' could use replacing or improving.

What about starting with some fluid changes (oil, front and rear diff, t-case) and a fresh set of wiper blades for the winter?

And props to spending time working on the truck with your son.

That's really cool. Lots of really fun and handy ideas on TW. You can do so much to a Tacoma that youv can end up spending more on mods than you did on the truck to begin with.

Here's a great thread for cheap and easy mod to get your hands dirty and improve the functionality of his Tacoma.

I would recommend the fog light any time mod to start
