Hey everyone I have a question about something my 2015 automatic truck does when switching from reverse to drive. It happens if I'm going in reverse and then switch back to drive. I usually wait to switch to drive after the truck is at a stop, but some circumstances I don't. Occasionally when I switch to drive and the truck is just barely in motion, the traction light comes on and my gas pedal does nothing. There is also a clicking and ringing. Not sure what it is, it's happened probably 6 or 7 times in the year I've had the truck. One time during a heavy snow I was driving at no more than 10-15 mph and hit a small no more than 1ft snow drift and this happened to me. The truck came to a stop and I could accelerate until I complete let off the gas and then tried it again. Thank you in advance!

I would think the computer senses damage and shuts things down... best to come to a complete stop when shifting between reverse and drive.

    ■When driving the vehicle

●On vehicles with an automatic transmission, do not let the vehicle roll backwards while the shift lever is in a driving position, or roll forward while the shift lever is in R.

Doing so may cause the engine to stall or lead to poor brake and steering performance, resulting in an accident or damage to the vehicle.

●On vehicles with an automatic transmission, do not shift the shift lever to P while the vehicle is moving.

Doing so can damage the transmission and may result in a loss of vehicle control.

●Do not shift the shift lever to R while the vehicle is moving forward.

Doing so can damage the transmission and may result in a loss of vehicle control.

●Do not shift the shift lever to D (vehicles with an automatic transmission) or 1 (vehicles with a manual transmission) while the vehicle is moving backward.

Doing so can damage the transmission and may result in a loss of vehicle control.

The trucks traction control / vsc features are kicking in.

The truck will not let you roll back in D... so when you go from reverse to drive while sill rolling backwards it will auto apply the brakes for you. FYI, dont be an ass to your trans. come to a stop before you shift.
