I had a guy hit me last Friday in my truck on the driver side front all the way down to the rear of the bed and it ripped the a arm in half. They are placing it on a frame machine today to see if it's totaled.

How was the hit of the airbags in your face?

The hit wasnt bad, I was going about 20 mph turning and he hit me going between 50 and 60 mph. The airbags on the side and steering wheel left me with no bruises at all. The side airbag that comes out of the seat beat the crap out of my arm and its still bruised and sore but overall it did its job flawlessly.

I was impressed with how well it took the hit and how little I was hurt. The Jeep Grand Cherokee that hit me looked like it hit a train.

Wow, glad you are ok!!! Damn these airbags leave you with no visibility at all, kind of scary not see whats going on outside after the crash.

I got claustrophobic real quick in there. The side curtain bag stayed inflated and I had some electrician scissors from work in the console that I had to use to puncture it so I could get out.

The shitty part of the entire thing is that the guy that pulled out in front of the guy in the Jeep in his new Suburban was just barely grazed on the bumper and the guy who swerved to miss him most likely totaled both our trucks.

Sorry to hear about the crunch! Glad you are O.K.! That's what's important!!
Concerning the truck...as Tonto told the Lone Ranger when surrounded by Indians..."Not look good, Kimo Sabe!"
Or, as Dr. McCoy said on several occasions. "He's Dead, Jim!"

If your truck is totaled which it looks to be. Can you take the seats, head unit, and any other interior trim that's not damaged? I've never had a wreck where the car was totaled luckily, but i've always been curious..

That sure sucks, glad no one was seriously injured and hope they get your truck all fixed up again.

Good question. They towed my brother's car to a junkyard while it was to be inspected and what not and they ended up charging him a parking fee for having it at the yard. insurance finally paid out and what not. I think you can take your belongings before they tow it. doubt they'd care if you took parts of the interior, lol.

My last truck was totaled. Anything I took out of the truck that wasn't damaged (aftermarket stereo, etc.) was not accounted for when the truck was valued.

The only thing you can take off is maybe the bed cover from what ive been told. If its totaled they wholesell it to junk yards where they part them out and make their money back on it so I do know you can not take any interior parts off it.
