Hey y'all, 09 double cab PreRunner. 125k miles Level lift with 33's.

I just noticed a double pop in the front going backwards and forwards. It happens when I first go either direction.

    What am I looking for???

Please be somewhat specific, I'm a baseball guy not a mechanic. Thank you

If it's when you apply the brakes after changing directions, like when pulling out of a parking spot, it's normal. We call it brake slap. You just need a little grease between the caliper ( NOT THE ROTOR) and the pads.

Yes. Often each side will "pop" one after the other, giving you two pops.

It's just the brake pads shifting in the caliper. It can be quite loud.

Hmmm...I wonder if that's what I'm hearing sometimes right as the truck comes to a complete stop when it's not a gentle stop. It doesn't do it every time. The first time I noticed it was right after installing my Light Racing UCA's so I'd say it's probably something in the UCA. Haven't looked into it, so I don't know what part of it might be popping considering they're brand new.

When my stock upper ball joints were on the way out they used to make a very distinct popping sound when the suspension compressed. Installed SPC arms and no more noise.

If itsz when you go over bumps or wheeling, guaranteed this is your pop noise. That what it was for me, loud pops anytime I was flexing the frame just a little bit. Bushings were toast.
It is your front Rad. mount bushings
