    The O.M. says when you chng. tires the ID code of the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter must be registered or it wont work properly, any truth ?

    If you remove the sensors, or replace them and don't have new ones registered, you'll get a TPMS indication of a "bad" sensor.

    I had that light on the dash light up on me the other day, I didnt know what it was so I stopped into the place where I get most of my mechanical work done which happens to be a tire shop... turned out it was just my spare tire was low, well now I know all it takes is a pert of air to turn off that light.

    you're one of the few years that Toyota put a TPMS on the spare. My 09 does not have one.
