The videos of these situations always leave me wondering what at the top of that hill is so important that these people felt the need to try their luck after watching a half a dozen other people fail miserably. It always seems to end the same: 20 brand new cars smashed into one another near the bottom.

I think the problem is obvious..... The Tacoma is an OFF ROAD model and this driver was not where he should be....He's on the road...!!

If I give him the benefit of the doubt, OK...maybe he was CROSSING the road from 1 field to another and got caught....!!

Those trucks are for Off The Road.... Maybe he should have turned on the 4X4 and went into the field.....hehehe:thumbsup:

No way to know whether the driver of the Taco was at fault or just surrounded by idiots. I've had to deal with ice a lot and I know there is nothing you can do with it, but that is not for the most part the case in Portland. People that have never driven on snow don't know what to do with it. The rear end starts to fishtail, they slam on the brakes. Hit a slick spot that ends in a few feet? Slam on the brakes.

Do you need to know, or care?
This guy who wrote about the news story is hilarious!!

    Merry Christmas..you filthy animal.

2 million miles ticket and accident free with 18 wheels...so,I can speak a bit about safe driving.

PORTLAND DRIVERS...Are some of the worst EVER.

Speeding.for sure...driving to close for stopping in time...running lights (the damn bikes as well) turning from the wrong lane...U-TURNS on Hawthorne..see this everyday...AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...the SUBARU'S with out of state plates...NEVER SEEM TO BUY THE OREGON PLATES FOR MONTHS...drive the same route each day, taking the wife downtown from, SE PDX...retired now...so I see this everyday...STOP LIGHTS ARE THERE FOR A REASON,....JAYWALKING IS NOT A DAMN RIGHT...and last but not least....MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I lived in Portland for 4 years, grew up in elsewhere in Oregon. Snow there turns into slush on top of ice in just a couple hours. Also they usually only have snow for a couple days a year, so there is no city budget for removal or salt. And the biggest reason by far that you hear all these horror stories about car pile ups due to snow is the lack of experienced snow drivers (75% of Portlandians are 20-30 something retired/homeless, roll your own, hipsters). I wouldn't be surprised if it was just one person being a giant twat that caused that. Obviously it wasn't the Tacoma's fault, or was it? I'm not reading that fucking article I've seen several every year for the last 30 lol.

The problem is the granola munchers don't put salt down like in Washington. I've been in that Portland mess before.

About 6 years ago my dad and I crawled 20 miles in about 4 hours in that trash. They closed I-5 and had damn road graders out.

Not surprising because Portland and Oregon are run by complete morons who worry more about protecting the rights of bums to openly shit on the sidewalks in front of families.

I also live in portland. I drove around wednesday AND thursday and this morning no problem. In both my 2016 TRD OR Dark Grey and my Red 96 Extended Cab 4x4. It's all the californians that moved here and can't drive in snow ;)

I've never seen more people anxious to walk out in front of a vehicle on snowy/icy roads at lights and in parking lots either....the pedestrians here beg for you to hit them and it's starting to become ridiculous. If I can't stop, I can't stop -- I don't care about you or your fucking body....if the truck is sliding, get the hell out of the way!

Wow. throwing own some hate there bro, wassup? You forgot th say "dope smoking morons" bro. Shesh....

And for the record Philadelphia has THE WORST FUCKING DRIVERS in the 3rd world. Red lights are for the other guy, stop signs are "optional", speeding in neighborhoods is expected and observed, jaywalkers risk death, and when you get in an accident, all the neighbors of "your" color come out and blame the person of a different color even if they didn't and specially when they didn't observe the accident in the first place. Accidents take police easy 30 minutes to respond.

When it's ice tho everyone stays home....... well the people that dont want to get into a accident!
