I am looking to get the Roll-N-Lock tonneau cover. I am not sure if one is better than the other. I know the M series is a vinyl cover with the aluminum underneath and the A series is just the aluminum slats. I was wondering if anyone has good or bad feedback on either of these products. Thanks.

When I bought my truck it already had the M series on it and I absolutely love it. You don't hear the aluminum slats while driving (unless you open the back window but even then it's not that loud) and the vinyl just makes your truck look a lot nicer than a garage door (that's what the slats look like)

Love my M series. Came with Aerospace 303 to protect the vinyl cover. I apply it after every wash! 1228151603a_HDR.jpg

Local CapIt dealer up here wants $1,699 +tax. Not going to happen. I can order one on line for 1,350. without doing any searches. Where in the Lower Mainland did you get the $1,142?

With this cover can you still use your D Rings? I am about to order one for my 2016.

It's not weather tight. Water does get into the bed. But not a lot. I see a lot of rain and keep my golf bag in the back. Never had it wet.

I'll answer my question. Was fairly easy to install. I'm 59 years young and with the help of my 82 year old Dad we finished it in 2.5 hours. And took another 30 minutes just to cut up and discard all the cardboard, dam this unit is well packed! Word of advice, if you buy this buy it from your Toyota dealer as it will not be tossed around through shipping. Package was flawless therefore so was the parts. Rnl made some improvements for 16+ models and Toyota seems to have designed the Tacoma for this cover as there are 2 threaded holes on the back rail that is there for that reason, not to mention this is the only rolling cover they sell at the parts department. Got mine for 943$ with tax !
Not sure how other Toyota dealers work out there but my salesman gets me parts at his cost:>)
Happy camper here, now I don't have to use my back seat for tools and other stuff you want secure. Is it waterproof? No none of them are. Leaks will only intrude on the corners and a possible trickle on the side rails due to the offset design of the new top rail trim. My answer to this is just buy the Oem rubber bed mat and the corner and side water will run out the sides under the mat not on your stuff. Also I didn't drill the back for canister drain tube, I just laid them under the mat and Boom all good. I find it impossible to get more water coming in that will go above the thickness of the mat which also helps things from sliding around. It's a bummer the 16+ models can't use the Rnl cargo manager yet! But no problem for now, I just use a ratcheting cargo bar with plastic bins that insure no moisture on your precious items. And for the D rings you loose in front, solution would be put another more narrow d ring or fabricate something to utilize the holes to allow tie off in front. Just my long 2 cents hopes this helps y'all!

Debagged the rnl logo like the rest of my Sport. :sawzall:

I have a love/hate relationship with my RollnLock. Does anyone have a solution for the freeze up issue. After I wash my truck the suckered freezes shut and I can't open my tailgate or open the RNL.

You might want to leave the rnl unlocked while washing so you can open tail gate

I've done that and water will get into the latch and freezes up. If I leave it open the RNL freezes in the rolled up position and I can't close it back up. I called RNL and they suggested the 303 protectant. Hopefully that works but if someone can chime in from a cold climate on a work around that would be great.
