@taczilla my controls don't work half the time, and I'd rather remove them than have non-functional steering wheel controls.

@taczilla I did... 2 years ago. But over the last few months the controls have been choosing when to work.. Connections are tight, so it's most likely something in the controls themselves causing them to not work...

It's most likely an incompatibility issue if the new HU is non-OEM. Did the BS start with the replacement unit?

It worked great for about a year and a half. Now something is off and the controls work intermittently. Very frustrating that I cannot find the cause of the problem. I am 99% confident the HU is compatible.

Thank you! I will call tomorrow.

I did the other thing....put a 2013 wheel on my 08. It has no steering wheel controls so I did plain ornaments. Use part numbers below to search ebay or internet. Typically $37 each.

    steering wheel (urethane) - 45100-04290-B0
rr cover (backside of wheel) - 451860C020B1
    rt side cover (w/cc) - 4518604030B0
    lft side cover - 4518704010B0
rt ornament (plain black) - 4511604010C0
lft ornament (plain black) - 4511704010C0

    Clockspring (pretty sure) - 84306-06140
    airbag/horn assembly - 45130-04130-B0
