Ok first off I did some research and attempted to search the answer but surprisingly there's not a lot of info and the info that is out there is contradictory. So here we go.

I currently have Billstein 5160s. They have a collapsed length of 14.22" and extended length of 24.06". So what I've learned so far is Bilstein advertises that this shock will accommodate a 1" lift. THATS IT?! But then Allpro says something along the lines of its not how much lift it can accommodate its the arch in the leaf pack so you can have a 3" lift. What I was told before all this was it doesn't matter what anyone says as long as you never exceed the extended length or hit the collapsed length. As long as your cycle of suspension stays within the range of shock travel. So which is true? At the moment I'm considering the BOSS leaf pack which will give me a 2" lift, If my math is correct I should be within the limits of my Bilstein 5160. Can anyone correct my ideology or is anyone currently running different leaf packs with good results on the 5160s? Thanks!

This that and the other thing.
I'm interested in the answer as well. wouldn't be surprised if bilstein says 1'' so if u damage it and have more then 1'' lift they can void the warranty lol

It absolutely works. I have a '15 with a 3" lift on 5160s and OME leaf packs in the rear. Over 15,000 miles and zero issues. I routinely go 4wheeling, and have stuffed the rear tires more times than I can count. It's fine. Likewise for rear wheels off the ground.

Did you have to put on limit straps or anything?

Nope. Bolted those bitches in and called it a day. I'm running the OME CS047Rs (forgot to put that in my original reply).

I'm running 5160's with the wheelers 3 leaf AAL, which netted about 1.5" of lift, and I am not happy with where the shock sits in it's travel. I have approximately 6" of compression and 4" of droop on the shock; this is already beyond my threshold of pain and I would not run these on a 3 in lift. At 3" of lift I'd be down to 2.5" of droop....no thanks.

So what would you do differently and what do you recommend, not sure I understand what you mean by compression and droop.

I am going to relocate my shock mounts and run a longer shock when I replace my leaf pack.

Compression is how much up travel the shock has before it bottoms out and droop is how much the shock can extend before it runs out of travel.
