On the 1st start of the morning, the truck spins over and over and will not start. It will eventually start after holding the throttle down for a few seconds but before it starts it pops like its backfiring and sounds/smells like its flooded. As long as the truck doesn't sit for more than a couple hours it will fire up every time after it starts the 1st tome. Any help would be appreciated. New IAC VALVE, TPS, and cleaned the throttle body has already been done

Possible injector leaking fuel. Try bleeding fuel pressure from fuel lines when you park it overnight. Best way is to unplug the circuit opening relay while its running. That will shut off fuel pump and the pressure while be run off untill engine dies. Turn ign off and plug relay back in. See how it starts in the morning.

I'll second that, also crack open the gas cap.
A fuel pump cut off switch (security) comes in handy for just such an occasion.

I'm working on a similar problem with my 98 tacoma 2.4L.
    Have replaced:
    plugs and wires
    fuel filter
    air filter
    PCV
    cleaned MAF and Throttle body

Next I am going to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator and Injectors.
Should I stay with new Toyota parts or try an aftermarket upgrade.
If I should use aftermarket, can anyone point me in the right direction to find these parts.
I have found refurbished, but hard to find something new.
Thank you in advance for help

The wire colors to the relay are white-black, blue, white-red, black-orange if its a 3RZ-FE. Which motor do you have?

The only other way is to shut truck off and crack open a line and let fuel pressure bleed off.

Thanks for the pic of the fuel pump relay, for the 98 (2.4L)

Best I could tell it is the relay under the dash, fastened to the side of the fuse block ??

Any suggestions what (brand/mfg.) injector to buy ?
And where to buy from ?
    Thanks

Same thing happened to me once with my 04 3.4l, but it only happened once. It was the morning after I used one of those crappy tire inflators that plugs into the cigarette lighter and runs off the battery, so I assumed it had nearly drained it. But it was the same symptoms, cranked fine but wouldn't turn over. Finally did after giving it some throttle to help it along, then smelled super rich. Drove it around the neighborhood for a half hour or so and all was well, hasn't happened since. I was always curious though what might have caused that, if it was a battery issue or not. This was maybe 6 months ago and I haven't had it repeat.

After closer look that is rhe flasher i believe, only has 2 or 3 wires. The relay will have at least 4 wires/terminals.
