She wants an auto even though she can drive stick. Guess she wants her roommates at college to be able to drive her car.

If anyone sees anything that's a good deal. Probably going to get a craigslist Honda.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Hold on there! I'm running an Iron Cross bumper and it looks just fine. Does it give me added clearance? No, but that's not why I have it. See, mall crawlers need a bumper that will protect both from mommies in the SUVs and the Bros in the honders.... Also, I wanted to keep my stock hitch. Ok, so it needed a little alteration to eliminate the ugly logos... Remember, "all babies are beautiful"... :D

Definitely, but it's worth it. And if you get the right smoker it's pretty much set it and forget it once you figure it out. I love my green egg, I can smoke for 12 hours on a handful of lump coal.

With the right charcoal smoker it's easy and way better. But yes, there is no doubt a propane or electric smoker is easier. So is McDonalds.

    Morning everyone.

Day 3 of my hell week because my co-worker is out, so have to do both of our jobs. Yesterday sucked ASS. Ended up at the end of the day with a little of 400 inbound emails total. :annoyed:

Jesus, I would kill to have that count as a busy day for me. Well, maybe not kill, but I'd definitely maim for it.

I had 695 emails come into my inbox yesterday. And I had just under 300 inbound phone calls, according to my log, just to my phone. The office as a whole received just over 1700.

Yesterday was a little above average for being busy, but we definitely didn't set any records

Good lord man. How short is your office as far as people, that you get that much? Or is that a normal day for you?! And here I was, thinking I had it bad... fuck that. You "win".

LOL. Thought about it a TON OF TIMES yesterday to be honest.

Shrug. We've got 8 people, which is average staff for us. We need more, because the company is growing, but that's an average day for this time of year. My record for calls inbound is in the 450 range, with another 100 or so outbound. No idea on a record for emails. This is our busy time of year, though, since there's snow on the ground and people are scrambling for new sets of tires. The average phone call only lasts about 30-60 seconds, though. Occasionally you'll have one that goes over 10 minutes, but that's when you're chasing problems.
I get around 400 internet order confirmations per day, which are a quick browse to see if there's any tires being transferred. If they don't have any on transfer, it just gets filed. If they do, the customer gets a call first (again, usually about a 30-60 second call). This time of the month (and year) is when we're chasing people for $$ too, so that adds to the count.

DANG. OK, I'll stop complaining about my co-worker being out and me getting the entire work load. You got me beat.

Not really. It's all about what you're used to. For me that's a normal day, so it's no big deal. You're dealing with double your normal workload, so it sucks.

What sucks about my job is that when I started we had 8 people answering the phones for 8 warehouses. Now we've got 14 warehouses, have doubled our footprint, and still have 8 people...

Meh. It's all spread out over a 10 hour day, so it's not as bad as if we were trying to pack it all into an average shift. Plus I can play around on here between calls, while I'm on hold, etc.

    So that helps, lol.

Yeah... I hear ya on that last part. Companies more and more now-a-days expect you to do double the work load, but without extra man power. Same here. My co-worker took on extra stuff, which then some of what he was doing got passed on to me to help accommodate with his new stuff. But we're a two man team, plus our boss who doesn't really get involved in the day to day stuff myself and my co-worker do, so it's tough.
