Ok so I'm new to tacomas, im coming from a 2012 2500 cummins with 37's.... im trying my best to fit 33 mud grapps under my 2017 trd sport. So far I've got a 3" spacer lift and not a chance of fitting the grapps... arms are in the tire pretty bad and I've ordered 1 1/2" wheel spacers.... they are bad I know but what are the odds of them fitting???

My thought would be why cheap spacers in such a nice new truck?

Because I want to fit these tires haha but thank you on the complement. I don't mind a little rub nor trimming I'd just like to know my chances. We also tried 285 70 17 trail grapp mts with the 3" lift and same thing. Tires in the a arm so I have a lot depending on the wheel spacers... but I didn't buy cheap spacers I got the most expensive set I could find so we shall see...

3" lift with the correct wheel offset/backspacing and you'll be golden. Stock wheels with wider tires are notorious for rubbing on the upper control arms.

Adding spacers every which way isn't really the way to go.

I've never ran spacers before always been scared of them but they just insisted they'd fit. I've never had aftermarket rims either just never been a fan. I like stocks and these rims aren't hideous and haven't decided but I want to run 20's in the future. Thanks for your input too buddy

I finally got my spacers and have no rub what so ever so all you need to fit 33 12.50's is a 3" lift and 1 1/2" spacers. Plus it's got a little more attitude and stance

Spacers aren't so horrible in my eyes. I am running Spidertrax spacers on all 4. The spacers will help and hurt. It will push the tires away from the UCAs, but you may get rubbing while turning. I have a 2nd gen, not a 3rd like yours, so there may be design differences that may effect my statement. You may also decide to go a different route for the lift after some time driving with a spacer lift. If so, the folks over @ wheelers are great at getting correct parts matched up to needs/wants.
Either way, enjoy your truck and Welcome to TW.
Edit: hopefully you got the correct hub centric spacers and not just cheapo lug centric ones.

Thanks Windsor I got the most expensive set I could find so I weeded out the cheap stuff. I stand corrected on rub, I went off in the ditch in a hard flex and it barley rubbed. As far as flat ground and full turn no rub.

One of these days, take it out and hunt for rubbing. Drive forward straight and turning (flat and over bumps. Also, one that some people forget, backing up. Get it to stuff the tires turning.
Do it on purpose so that when you do it on accident, you know what it is.

lol don't wanna come out to be a dick or anything but I'm not oblivious to what rubbing is, when they said it wasn't rubbing I didn't believe them but now I do. I rubbed 37's with a 5" lift and dodges have the most clearance as it is this is just a way smaller version(of course ifs and straight axle) lol I had a second gen cummins leveled with 37s and rubbed on flexes and reverse. I think some are suprised as me on no rubbing but I don't care enough about it to lie lol

What I meant is to know if it is rubbing the mudflap/back of the fender flare or if it is about to rip your bumper off.

Well step one of my process was to remove the mud flaps and it isn't making contact I can fit my hand inbetween the control arm and tire so that was my biggest thing. I think it fits perfect but I'll take some better pics as soon as I get off
