zero estimators here...plenty of judges and speculators tho :) i think there are plenty of things to look down at..like the radio to get justin beiber off the station. or the speedometer.

im betting it isnt totalled..and i'm glad you're okay.

So glad and thankful that God has given me the sense to not text and drive to protect myself and others. Maybe that's why I have a clean driving record ... I actually care.

Don't understand how others can do it, based on known facts. They probably don't care about themselves or others. So glad you live in another state and away from me.

no accidents for 16 years here. I look at my phone, radio, rear view mirror at the kids or whatever else i want to look at. Plus i live in one of the busiest and most crowded places around- southern california. Its a way of life out here, and yes its illegal. There are times to do certain things, and times not to. Use common sense and be aware of your surroundings

Phone is just fine...I hate to disappoint all of you that are so certain what happened but I wasn't texting. I can only hope to be as perfect as all of you one day. I made a mistake and I have to live with it. I'm just thankful no one was killed. I got the initial estimate back at 8k. Truck is worth about 16K so unless they find additional damage when they tear it down they should fix it. I believe the threshold in Maryland is 75%.

    Resist... resist.

    Cant resist.
Anytime you cause an accident, you were distracted right? At least I hope it was not done on purpose.
So with that fact in mind, anyone who claims that they are a superior person just because they do not text while driving is a hypocrite.
We get distracted by using a hands free device, eating a burger, talking to your passenger, whatever. Everything you do while driving other than driving is a distraction in one way or another.
I am not saying that you should text while driving, but for Christ sake quit acting like the op did something out of the ordinary. We all get distracted sometimes.
Op, glad you are okay and I hope things work out in your favor.

Well atleast things are looking up. Didn't even realize you are local man. I got some stock fenders from my truck that I am getting ready to post up for sale to get them out. I know you are a 2011, but the fenders will fit on both second gen front ends...hell I even have a scooped hood for the 2011 models if you need one. If you are interested let me know.

Airbag deployment is based on deceleration, not impact. The system is only active over 35 mph(?), I believe, not sure. Anyway, it is the stop in motion that deploys the airbag. It is possible that if the seatbelt is not in use, that the bag may not deploy. Also, with OP pics, really hard to determine damages. A hard hit in that area could definitely open a can of worms into other necessary operations.

funny how you compare texting to other types of distracted driving, and people automatically say you are trying to justify texting.. hahaha. ok. Which in turn makes means that they are justifying other forms of distracted driving as ok... Except that I wasn't justifying ANY kind of distracted driving.. But everyone gets all high and mighty about texting when EVERYONE drives distracted at some point. takes their eyes off the road. isn't paying attention... EVERYONE has had those close calls. It just takes a little common sense, as mentioned before. I'm just glad the OP and anyone else involved wasn't hurt. It doesn't matter what caused it.. its irrelevant at this point.

Long enough to slam into the innocent person ahead of him.
I can't believe so many people feel texting and driving is the new normal.
I can only hope all you millennials eventually grow up and become responsible adults.

    GO TRUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do realize that only takes like 2 seconds.. So when you look at your radio, or change your music.. you are just as likely to slam into some innocent person in front of you. Get off your high horse
