Okay so I recently put icon shocks and Dakar leaf in rear. Also put new u joints and center bearing in... Didn't check my slip joint tho. After a few days I got a clunk when I drive over bumps slow making the rear suspension go from side to side. I checked all the bolts and torqued them all and still have the clunk. Greased all u joints.. And while I was doing that I shook the drive shaft and I have a clunk/binding in the back part of the drive shaft between the slip yoke/joint and the rear u joint..? Should there be play/clunk? Is the shaft done? Should I take the yoke apart and grease it?

I checked for loose body parts.. Fixed them all.. And I am waiting for new bolts for bed, going to fix the loose bed with washers and rubber washers. Bed is not the problem..

Any other ideas why I would have this clunk? I have read all other post and gone through almost everything.. I dont think it's coming from the front... All new control arm bushings and ball joints and I checked all bolts with torque. Also can feel it in the floor. I have no other ideas what it could be.

No help from me, but hopefully some more info:

Same issue. Removed rear drive shaft, issue went away. Replaced all u-joints and carrier bearing, still there. I'm on stock suspension, so I am hoping that its some form of axel wrap?

There is a TSB regarding this issue.

Did you have this issue prior to lift?

When you replaced the rear springs did you wait until the truck was sitting on it's own weight before tightening the spring eye bolts and shackle bolts?

If not then your probably getting bind in the spring eyes.

@sbond007 iv been reading alot today and I got some things to check out tomorrow, I'll let u know what I come up with..
I got it after the lift. I don't think there is a tsb.
It shouldn't be axel wrap because u are stock right? No lift or after market on your truck?
Did u grease ur slip joint?
What year is your truck? How many miles?

@sparkystaco yeah I thought about that so I just went and loosened them all and jumped in the box a bit then re torqued everything 120 ft lbs. Also I put a pry bar in and tried to move the leaf at the bushings, they moved a bit but I noticed the second leaf slids back and forth. So I tightened all the leaf keepers( they were loose). Also re torqued u bolts again 100 ft lbs ( they were loose) torqued the 4 cross member bolts35 ft lbs (they were loose) took a look at my lower control arm bushings that I just replaced and on two of them there is a little gap between the bushing washer and control arm.... I wonder if they are loose and moving back and forth.. I checked the torque and they were good 100ft lbs.. I know I read a thread that someone found theirs coming loose so they tacked them together and it fixed their clunk. I'll take the truck for a ride later today and see how it is.
Oh and I also made rubber washers out of an old tire and lifted my bed and put them between the bed and frame.
I hope it's good now! Did a lot in the past 24 hours. Those bed bolts were a bitch! I got normal bolts ordered to replace them
