Found my mat at an online Toyota dealer. Called local dealer and asked if they price matched. They sold me the mat for the online price and did not try to add in the shipping I would have paid online. So in the $90 range.

I pull the mat out when I carry things I need to be able to slide for ease of loading/unloading. Otherwise it works great to keep stuff pretty stable.

Yes, debris and water get underneath. But it doesn't much matter.

    1) the mat sits on the bed ridges, so the water and much debris will flow right out anyway.

    2) front and rear drain holes work well, so nothing has stood in my bed long

    3) bed is composite. No rust, wet doesn't matter.

    4) caveat. I would like to find SS bed bolts to replace the OE bits. I get enough salt water in the bed from my kayaks that the heads are starting to rust a bit. Even though I wash down when I get home. Guess I should sand and POR 15.

With the composite bed there is nothing to worry about ... but yes, grit will gather.

I personally went with the OEM Toyota mat. I'm VERY happy with it and would think resale would be better too.

My protecta mat has nubs on the bottom that hold it up so it itsnt just a flat sheet of rubber. and the slope of the truck when unloaded make the water run to the front drain holes (which i enlarged from like 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch since even a small stick/leaf would clog them up)

Plastic, composite degrades in sunlight. I don't know but how about doing the Line X liner. We could spend the same money for a bed mat and bed cover. Would Line X kill 2 birds with one stone? Just wondering. Thanks

The Toyota one is nice, and it fits well, and maybe even says Toyota on it. But, if you really don't want to spend that much, the Tractor Supply stall mat is sometimes on sale for ~$30. Made a template, cut a couple notches for the wheel wells, and it's good to go. I think my truck is quieter and rides a bit better with a little weight in the bed. This thing weighs about 80 pounds, and seems to make a difference. The other side is smooth if you need to slide stuff over it.

I had the OEM mat and now I have the Dee zee heavyweight mat. Only got rid of the oem mat after I built in a sleeping platform and then quickly realized I should have kept it to keep things from sliding around. They both are thick and do their job. I'd go with the cheapest between the two. Got my Dee zee mat new on jet.com for $60.
