    Hi all,

the dealer has a Certified Prerunner 2012 w/37k miles, double cab V6, TRD Off-road loaded and in great shape (one scratch on the bumper that was touched up). 2.5 years left on the warranty, has Nav and JBL audio. New tires, battery, vehicle is a 9/10.

Any thoughts as to a fair price? They offered $23,800. Nobody drives PreRunners around here (due to the snow, although I never put my last Taco in 4wd: sand and Blizzaks do the job well). Seems like a lot of truck for the money, compared to the $29k I would be looking at likely paying for a 4x4 version of the same truck. I don't need 4x4 and don't want to pay an extra $6k for it....thanks in advance!

    None, stock
Not super experienced in this...but from what I've read from these forums - the price is really dependent on where you're located. Here in Maine, I picked up a 2014 sr5 6 cal with 18,000 miles for 24 before everything else about 10 months ago.

That seems like a pretty good price to me, probably due to the fact that prerunners don't sell well in that area like you said. Where are you located?

If you are SURE you don't need 4wd I'd say go for it. I have that same truck but a 2013. Love it

OK, thanks. Up in Eastern Washington, it snows quite a bit here. Yeah, I have had 2 Taco's and never use the 4WD. I don't wheel aggressively, and in the winter, I just run my Blizzaks, sand in the bed, and don't drive like an idiot. I know plenty of people who have 4WD and it gives them a false sense of confidence. A friend just flipped his 1st-gen Taco last week, he had it all of 2 weeks, driving way too fast on all-season tires in 4WD on ice.....best snow car I ever had was a BMW 135i 6MT (RWD) with Conti winter tires.

Yea, the price seems decent. See if you can talk them down a grand or so, but even if you can't I wouldn't be too concerned. A quick check at Kelly Blue Book (for my zip code, bay area) and the condition as "Good" (average) returns 24.5k private party value for that truck.

I wouldnt be caught dead without 4x4... but thats just me. If you can swing 2wd... go for it least it has a rear locker so you dont just do one tire fires in the snow when you do get stuck.

Yea, I certainly don't need 4wd either but having that rear locker is kind of nice and I have used it a few times. Definitely makes a difference.

Pretty sure this has a rear locker...TRD Off-Road is standard, isn't it?

Yep, it is. Doesn't matter if it's 2wd or 4wd
