Milky oil in neck but oil looks fine?

I was gonna say completely normal too, have seen this issue since the 4.0 since 2005 on trucks that always take short trips.

 

drive more to get the engine up to operating temps and keep it there longer.

completely normal. fill tube is too far away from the engine to heat up and evaporate any condensation from sitting.

 

do you have any external oil leaks?
because that condensation is absolutely normal especially in cold weather.
combustion engines consume oil,fact. but yours is a little excessive,1 qt per 3,000 to 5,000 wouldn't surprise me.
how many miles do you have?

 

dont over think it. same thing happens across many brands. VW, Honda, Toyota..etc etc. just drive it longer distances

 

I haven't read all comments ... I freaked the 1st time I saw it ... it's common ... not to worry.

 

I'm at 157xxx and no external leaks. I changed my pcv Sunday topped the oil back off and trying to put a few miles on it before I can say it fixed the problem. Some say that lil guy can make or break you at times...

 

Which weight oil do you use?

 

If your still burning oil after the PCV valve my guess would be carbon build up in the oil control rings followed by valve seal or guide issue. Compression test won't help you diagnose which one.

 

I do believe it was the pcv because it hasn't used any yet.
