LED Fog Light Replacement Bulb

Im looking to replace my factory fog bulbs with a plug and play LED (6000k color). I'd like to eliminate the yellowish halogen light (yes I know its better for fog) and have it match my LED DRLs. Being super bright isnt important, I have an 32" LED bar for that. In fact, if I am running these with my DRLs I dont want them to blind/distract other drivers

Can anyone recommend a decent plug and play LED fog bulb option from Amazon or Ebay?

At risk of sounding like a cheap-ass I don't really want to spend $200 on fog lights. I was thinking along the lines of $50ish, lol

 

I don't fault you for being cheap, but I can assure you those XB fogs are the last fog you'll ever need. The rest of the plug and play options are either more expensive, or have horrible output or throw light everywhere.

 

If you put LEDs in a stock housing that's not a projector you are going to be very disappointed. Your fogs will be completely worthless as any kind of light source, they just throw light everywhere. Believe me I tried it. It was a waste of money and you will just blind every car you meet.

 

I have Opt7 fluxbeam headlights in my fogs. $100 on Amazon. Amazing. Lights up everything.

 

So I guess any 6k LED H11 would work with my '17 DC Sport for the fogs

 

What he said ^^^.... They're the tits. No issues at all and only the occasional geezer high beams me. I run them for headlights and fogs and they are on anytime the lights are on.

Yah, Im looking to avoid that. I dont need super bright, just trying to match my DRLs... I ordered some of these, as the lumens (900 per bulb) are in the range I feel is acceptable for responsible road driving

You guys throwing in LEDs in your fogs, did you get before and after pictures of the beam with Halogen vs LED? I had a spare pair of H11 LEDs from years ago that I threw in the fogs and the relatively defined line cutoff that was there with the halogens was completely gone with the LEDs. They looked good, matched pretty close to the HID coloring, but the light scatter was horrid and I'm sure would have blinded the hell out of oncoming traffic. Not to mention that due to the scatter the throw of the fogs was useless.

 

FWIW I've never been flashed and I drive with my fogs on all the time.

You have essentially turned your fog lights into DTRL's.

 

Never could understand why people run their fog lights all the time . They do hamper oncoming traffic on 2 way streets . Cool factor , ? , more of a dipshit factor actually . Different on a 4 lane to oncoming traffic . And that guy you are NOT tailgating , they don't think much of them either .


Geezer , MM . 25 years 48 state trucker , zero accidents , scratches , never took a ditch . Only used mine in fog or snow conditions as designed .

 

I really don't think so. I drive over 150 mile a day and most of it is in the dark. I would say that if only one out of every 3000 or so cars that i pass high beams me it would be their problem, not mine. I get about the same percentage of people doing so when i drive my wife's Subaru.... and it is equipped with Factory HID's. Should we call Subaru and report the issue because a very small percentage of people are unaccustomed to seeing cars with ultra white headlights?

 

I come from a motorcycling background where more light is better. I commute on 65mph highways with cross traffic. Anything to increase my chances of being seen by the soccer mom driving her kids to school I'll take. I run Nokya yellow fogs in my truck. If people cant handle the fog lights coming at them, look at the fog line on the road and carry on.

 

I don't know about any model other than the TRD OR 4x4 because that is what own, but my factory bulbs were identical to on another in the low beam and in the fog light location. That is why when i switched to LED's, i went with the same bulb in both locations.

Here is a comparison pic of the halogen and LED side by side. Sorry i don not have one of the beam shining on something. Light scatter really doesn't seem to be an issue though.

 

Very hard to tell with an oncoming picture, I just took a quick picture with the H11 LED bulb I have next to Halogen and see if you guys tell me you're not seeing the same.
