I bought a 2004 Tacoma 2.4L single cab in Jan. of that year. Right after that I bought the paperback FSM manuals. A few years later I discovered the online 2003 manual. For the remainder of the 10 yrs. that I owned that Tacoma, I used nothing but the online FSM. It was easier and less stressful on my immaculate paperback FSMs to simply print the section(s) that were needed when things came up.

I can't explain the difference in size and I cannot imagine the everyday diyer and even legit tech not being able to solve problems with the 2003 online FSM.

    Download it and start reading.

The paperback FSMs for the '04 are a 2 volume set. I wouldn't be surprised if they were no longer available in print. If not, try ebay.

I also found the Haynes manual for my '04 to be very helpful. Many knock Haynes. I have a stack that stands as tall as I do. I've maintained and repaired a lot of vehicles with them.

i have the haynes, and between it and this one i feel very covered, when i changed out the brakes and did some other work on the truck when i first got it, both had info that was helpful in finishing that job, i was just surprised by the size difference in the files is all. Just to cover my curiosity i downloaded the 2005 and up one, and took it apart to see if any of the images were larger, and they were, so the difference in size is very likely to be, because of the difference in the image files in the pdf's

I think that's a manual job (hah.. get it it? Manual!) It'll take a lot of renaming and random clicking but it'll save time when looking for specific pages.

I'm working on compiling that into 1 large pdf in the proper order. I would love to have a paper copy of the FSM but that's going to cost $300

Hi all - The service manual Toyota gave me for my '95 Tacoma is for the 1996 Tacoma. But mine is a '95 & is different enough to confuse me. Anyone have the 1995 service manual?

Regarding the FSM noted in post #74 (Zip archive of the 2003 FSM. http://web.archive.org/web/20080731033603/http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/2003/2003_FSM.zip )

It is very helpful but I am having trouble finding the section (I keep clicking on various files, only to run into dead ends) on greasing the inner and outer front wheel bearings on the base 2WD truck. Could someone help me find the location for this information. Really appreciate it.
