That's a slick mount for your ham.
Where did you get the 3D printed mount for it? Or did you do it yourself?

I designed it pretty quickly and sent it to Shapeways to get it printed out, my printer is out on loan and has been for a while. It's not perfect and I'll probably redo it at some point but for now it works.

    2 questions,
    1. How did you route the control Head wire?
    2. Can you post a pic of the back of the control Head to see the mount please?

Wicked clean looking and precisely what I am thinking about. Only have the FTM-100dr right now but may trade in another rig go the 400.

Haven't routed it yet, waiting until I have some time when my kid is back in school from Christmas break. Plan is to nip a small section of the grey trim where it won't be noticeable so I can unplug the head and stash it and the control line can feed back into the dash just leaving the RJ connector showing just barely. The control line will run back through the dash and along the trans tunnel to the radio located under the driver's seat. The back of the head is just a simple stepped bushing, it fits pretty well now but it might need to be oversized a little to keep the nice friction fit over time. Also I forgot to recess to screw hole in the model so that came later, if I make it again I'll fix that properly.

    This is cool:

Can you make switch blanks for right side 2nd Gen?

... or at least a piece that can glue on to the switch blank. It looks like it would have to be the size of the charger switch in the pic.

Maybe. I've been thinking about a cubby plate that incorporates a keystone jack, a single switch and a mic hanger. Not sure if the demand is there though.

@forty2 That would be awesome! I would definitely buy one. If you need someone to test out the setup let me know :)

I have a 2nd Gen with no upper cubbies. My lower cubby is already full of switches and a plate. I was looking for something clean to stick on the switch blank under the AC controls.

I may draw up a simple version of what I'm thinking of when I get home from vacation, I'll keep you posted.

I don't know what size those switches are, if they are the shorter fatter switches then my mic hanger is already the right size. I have it up for sale on Shapeways. If it's the taller narrower style Toyota switch I haven't made that yet but probably will someday.

Looking forward to it. I don't have the 3D printing skills to produce something like that but the keystone port would be great for the mic extension.

    Yup, that's the one.

    I'll take a mic hanger.

I'm Canadian. Shapeways, I have to look it up.

    Google-Fu!
