Good luck with your truck OP. Hopefully no real damage was done you're not the first person to do that and ya won't be the last. Crossing fingers for ya that your truck is okay.

I believe car will be fine. Transmission fluid drained out of the pan isn't even half of what's in the transmission if I am not wrong

Glad you got the answer and I am sure it will be okay since you were able to drive it without noticing anything, and only drove it a short distance. Won't hurt to have it checked out though. Good luck.

The trans pan only holds about 5 quarts of fluid, there is about 11 quarts total in the transmission and torque converter, so I doubt you did any damage on a short drive.
I'd wonder what having 2x the oil in the crankcase would do to piston rings, seals, etc

You are probably fine, as others said, you didn't drive it without ANY oil in the tranny, just less.

To check the atf, you can drain it again and check for metal flakes in the oil. Run the fluid thru a coffee filter, and if you see shiney bits, you might be in trouble, and best to take it to a specialist. If the oil i clean, however, you are probably fine.

Based on his short drive, nothing.

If the level is high enough the crankshaft/rods will hit the top of the oil and whip it up causing the oil to be filled with air/bubbles, then the oil pump won't have enough pressure or pump enough oil.

    OME and worth every penny.
If it were a HP engine running lots of RPM that's more a problem. These things are the AK47 of engines. I think they'll run on mud.
