    Good morning and Merry Christmas!

My girlfriend bought me some heated seats and seat covers for Christmas! I've read just about every wiring thread regarding these, but still don't get it. Mine seem a little different than what I've read and seen on other posts.

    Here's a photo.
The wires are labeled which helps! But I do not know what/where to tap them in to. 20161225_060235.jpg

Most people run an add a fuse circuit/fuse tap. This already has an inline 15A fuse, should I just run this to the battery or should I still run in with a fuse tap?

How the heck do I get access to the area where the factory blanks are to insert the switches?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

    Merry Christmas!!

    Merry Christmas to you!
I installed the seat heaters in my truck under the covers, but the ones you have depending on how many amps should be basically the same.I hooked both of mine up to the power point (cig lighter).Which ever is the easiest one to get too.Been running them for over a year without blowing a fuse.lf you live somewhere cold heat the truck up for about half hour,so when you pry the consol apart the snaps won't break.
*Edit. The battery is a long way to get power. There is pleanty of other ways to get power inside the cab.
    Hope that will help you

    Thank you!

Should I attach an add a fuse circuit to the inline fused power wire and tap into the fuse box for the main power? Is this the safest way?

Should I just tap into the cigarette lighter for power with the inline fused wire?

What do I tap the "on wire" and "night light" into?

Keep it simple by wiring to the cig lighter. And keep the inline fuse. The worst thing that could happen is that you pop a fuse. You can always wire it up later to the fuze box.The heaters l bought were already wired with a light for the switch. So l don't know about the night lite on yours. You will have a hot and a ground coming off the cig lighter.Use those for power and ground.May be someone on here that will bash me for hooking both of mine to the cig lighter, but after running them for a year l can't see any issues

I ordered these from Amazon, and they did not come with instructions either.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RZL5YCQ/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_nO8xybZRWA76F

Here us what they told me:

"I asked our engineers ,Here are 4 wire layout,
The red line connect to positive pole, black line connect to the negative pole,
the yellow line connect to car's (electric) switch, green line connect to Night light switch.
if you have any other problems ,please feel free contact us"

    I hope this helps.

You bring up a good point, I forgot I'll be tying both seat heater's wires together. Obviously each one has a 15A power line fuse. If I tap into the cigarette lighter for power, will it be enough for both without worring? Can I also use the cigarette lighter for my radar/phone charger while using the heaters?
I just need to find out where to tap the "on wire" and "night light" and I should be good to get thus project started.
Does the lower dash just pop off to gain access to the wired behind it?

    Thanks again for the help!

I was looking at this write up http://www.lieblweb.com/heatedseat.html

I am installing them under my seat covers so most of this information I won't use. But near step 28 it shows running the wires underneath shift console, I really like this idea and I'm hoping I can tie into the wires I need (ground, "on wire" and "night light") in there too.

If you don't want to cut any wires you can use add-a-fuses behind coin tray. 12V switched power is from IG1 NO. 2 10 A. Switch lighting can be obtained from TAIL 10A.

I used the Empty Fuse slot next to the tail light Fuse for the switch light on my Aux light push switch, and used a low profile-Mini Fuse Tap with two 5amp Fuses I purchased on eBay.

Wow! I didn't realize I had fuses behind there! Thanks!
So I can add a fuse for the "on wire" to the IGN NO 2 and do the same for the "Night light" to the Tail 10A?
I may as well do the same for the main power wire and add a fuse it to the PWR OUTLET 15A instead of running it to the battery or splicing.

Thanks, I could do this too for the main power and use the add a fuse for the other two wires.

This circuit only has power when the headlight switch is turned on. I used the 4WD fuse for 12v power to the switch witch is only activated when the Key is On.

That's a good tip. Thank you.

Does it matter if I tap into a fuse with a 10A vs a 30A rating? Each front seat has an in-line 15A fuse then another 5A fuse where the "night light" and "On wire" are attached to.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. I was explaining how I powered the switch. Maybe @nazlax10 could chime in. He's added the heaters.

It was very helpful, I'll want to tap a fuse which has power only when the ignition is on. I thought you too had installed heated seats and that is also where you tapped the fuse.

I just want to make sure I won't be overloading anything by tying both seat heaters together and then using 3 add a fuses (1 for both main power, 1 for both "on wire" and 1 for both "night light")

Funny thing. I was just reading this when you tagged me haha.

So for the wiring. The simplest way to do it is definitely add a fuses. The ground is self explanatory. The yellow wire needs to tie into any green wire from a factory switch. That will control the switch lighting when you turn your dash lights on or off. You can tie the yellows together and only run one wire to the green wire if you have two switches. The red wire with a fuse is constant 12v. I would run both of those to the interior fuse panel and use an add a fuse. You can connect one to the DR LOCK spot and one to the PWR OUTLET. I wouldn't combine these just to be safe with amperage rating. Then the red with a yellow stripe is switched power. Basically it gives a signal to the heater to only be able to turn on when the truck is on. You could combine these and run one add a fuse to almost any other occupied fuse spot in your panel. The IGN spot would be a good choice. Also here's a good diagram for fuse placement for add a fuses.

    untitled.jpg

I know that's a lot of information so let me know if you have any questions. Also as a small disclaimer I'm not responsible for any damage to yourself, your truck, or of any other kind by your following my advice. You are modifying your truck at your own risk.
