Throttle got hung while working on my truck. went to 6 grand rpm before i could cut it off. I now have a knock coming from my top end. Any ideas what it could be? 3.4L 291k original engine

    97kstacco,

Sorry to hear about your dilemma especially considering you probably had a great running 3.4 before the throttle got hung. These are some possible causes for your knock that I can think of for what it is worth. You are probably going to have to remove your valve covers to remedy the problem. Try to determine which head is making the noise before going any further.
    1. Lifter Problem.
    2. Loose Valve Seat
    3. Rocker Arm Problem

    Good Luck,
    Paul
