    1998 purple Crystal Pearl Tacoma SR5 2.4L
    Cool air filter and two 12in electric fan
    1998 Toyota SR5 2.4 liter Flashing check engine light I put new wires new plugs new radiator and still having problems can anyone help me please

    its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
    you need to go to Advanceauto they can read the code for free, then you can fix it. if you want to shut it off disconnect your Neg . battery cable

    Only time mine flashes is when I'm approaching an oil change interval.

    I'm going to assume this isn't the case with your truck

    advanceauto or autozone will read it for free and give you a printout on the codes and what part to replace, or get the codes and use the search button here. if you turn off the CEL with the neg. batt. cable, the codes will still be stored in the ECU to read later

    The reason for your flashing check engine light is a misfire. A HEAVY one. You may want to make sure your ignition coil is good. You may also want to consider checking your head gasket to make sure it's not damaged. From what I remember, those engines are good at blowing head gaskets. Especially in the higher mileage range.

    the 3.0 v6 blows head gaskets, the OPs 22R is solid as a rock

    Maybe I was thinking of bent valves. One of the 4 cylinder toyota engines that is in the trucks eithet blows gaskets or bends valves.
