Very happy with my 2017 SR Utylity package 4x4 w/2.7 L stick shift. Have been playing with a few things lately but I love the stripped down models. My 08 was a base model 2wd stick and was absolutely maint free rig. 20161204_092851.jpg 20161221_133434.jpg 20161204_092718.jpg

same attitude here, this last vehicle purchase was for a manual trans truck and that's that. no MT, no purchase.

i looked at the zr2 with the diesel... it suits how i drive with low torque and shifts mostly under 3400rpm. but i couldn't get past the gm part if a MT Yota was available even with the 3.5. i would like more low end but I'm super happy with the quality and everything so far. if a Ranger Raptor MT comes out with good low end then it may be back to the sales fray... we will see. maybe in the next year some 3.5 motor tricks start to show up.

Ha! Exactly like my bearded taco with sliders and wheels. Looks great. A lot of folks don't like the beard but I think it looks great on the white. I've only seen one other with it here in NW AR and it was a forestry service truck with a light bar.

I had to get this from Dealer in Idaho was around 23k and I got 7k for my little 08 Taco only had 73k miles on it almost like new cond.
Im thnking of going all black around grill trim on the 2017 but havent quite made up my mind yet. Hardest thing so far to accomplish was installing fogs because this model doesnt have intermittent wipers or any factory wiring harness but got it figured out. Found 12v source on a spare plug by fuse box and now Ive got fogs!

Hows it do pulling the 265s? Loss of mileage or power? Also have you found the intermittent wiper mod thread?

Its sluggish getting to highway speed when shifting to 3rd but just pump a little more rpms and its fine after that.
I saw the intermittent wiper thread but I didnt want to alter the truck, living in Washington state you either have them on or you dont. I was actually suprised how easy they were to hook up. I also foud out the add a fuse doesn't work 2017 has a completely diffrent style fuse I have not found yet.

We need to start a Tacoma Utylity package thread. Be nice to see more of these UP-SR upgrades and things others have run into modifying these Tacomas?

Go ahead and start one. I'll post in it. There are a few threads about them but nothing like a dedicated Util package thread. The SR thread has a few in it.

There were none available in the tri-state area around me. No M/T of any kind to even test drive. I had them build mine with no obligation to buy it, only to test drive it when it came in.

New 17 DCSB OR 6mt owner. That reverse and 1st gear mishap happens all the time when I'm not paying attention. This truck requires attention to be paid.

I'm still learning all of this new technology. I'm coming from an integra and not use to the electronics, the size of the truck, and the height. I love it.
