For long highway travels you will not beat the Michelin LTX/MS2.

Long life, quite ride, traction all around and good gas mileage.

Decent in the snow....They aren't a superior mudding tire though.

Only you can decide what tire best suites your need.

Michelin LTX AT/2. Best Rolling Resistance of any AT tire. Last set got me 90k.

They are quite, and did well on/off road.

I'll be switching to those after my stock ones are toast.

I'm looking at these as well, but it looks like the only size you can get in load range C is LT285/70R17 C, and those aren't going to clear with stock suspension.....

My truck came with the Michelin LTX AT2's, great tire. I travel highway and offroad is sand, in my opinion best tire out there. Had the regular LTX on a Suburban and got just a tick over 90k miles on them.

As others have said, it's going to be a compromise. I would go with the tire that best fits the need you have where you will put the most miles on the tire.

Are you sure they aren't LTX M/S? I didn't realize the Limited came with the A/T

That's a loaded question but overall a Mud Terrain will be better off-road and overlanding than an all terrain which are better for street driving.

    General Grabbers MT
    BF Goodrich KM2
    Goodyear Wranger MT
Michelin LTX AT2 (if I have to pick an AT)

if its not the KO2 you're a communist right? lol

Here the the jeep community many speak highly of the Duratracs.
I'm a big fan of the Cooper ST Maxx though.

I've been hearing great things about the General Grabbers from a few off road pages I follow on youtube out of australia, and XOverland run them as well. Haven't personally used them yet.

Indeed they are. Though I am pretty sure they make them in MT which is what I was referring to.i could be wrong.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
There really is no comparison, michelins, whether at2 or the new defenders which used to be m/s, people routinely get 100k miles. I have 80k on my at2's and I'm pretty confident I'll get 100k.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
I'll stay out of the tire discussion as i am currently running Kbro2's and therefore most certainly must have a bed full of bolt on shit, a D-Bag attitude and a target on my back from the NITTO GRAPPLER/GOODYEAR DURATRAC MAFIA.

You did mention a shell though and I have the LEER 100XQ and couldn't be happier with it! One thing to make sure of no matter which top you choose, get the removable front window... cleaning between the factory window and the shell window is impossible without one. $125 option, worth that ten fold.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone. I'm leaning on 265 75 16 Cooper ST MAXX for on-demand trail wheeling, keep the stock for everyday use. Any thoughts on the load rating and etc?

I've had Duratracs for a little over a year and have been pleased so far.

As stated above they will get louder as they wear.
